P.S. My 10 1/2 year old son asked to try one of the working phones. I said go ahead, and then realized as he tried to dial, he had no idea how to dial a rotary phone.
It was really shocking in a way, never really thought about him not having a chance to use a rotary phone.

With most of my family gone, and the poor farmer type of family, the "heirloom" I was left was the farmhouse telephone.
I actually asked for this phone - it had been thrown out when the great grandparents were swayed by new technology in the mid nineties.
This phone is a black bakelite they recieved in 1931. It was used until, like i said, the nineties.
The rest, as they say, is history. Unfortnately, i am having a hard time finding someone to repair/clean the phones i have, so i have decided to try it myself. It seems fun. In a weird non active way. LOL.
i also have a Fantan hotel phone from Brooklyn NY. It is so cool.
So following the directions on here, i am giving self help a shot.

Thanks Dave. It also serves as a devious technique for adding content of greater merit than what I can come up with!

Very nice interview loaded with useful information.

As an aside, an interview like this adds nice variety to a blog and is a great way to write a blog post!
