Actually I scan them, using a Dell all-in-one printer, scanner, fax machine. That gives me the digital image, then I'll often need to clean it up a little with Photoshop, removing any age-related damage on the vintage cover. I have a ton of great stuff, all Christmas-related, to post in the next few weeks. One magazine has a Christmas-themed cover that is just stunning, but it's in horrible condition, with severe water damage. I've reworked it extensively, and when I post it I'll also show the "before picture"...it was ugly!

Mark: Do you actually photograph the magazine covers and use those images? If so, what is your setup like for the photography? The photos are awesome.

I usually find those old magazines on eBay, and recently got several from a seller that had tons of them. Those old periodicals can be hard to find, but sometimes I'll get lucky!

Quite a nice little picture, indeed. I wonder if the artist was a professional hired to paint the cover illustration, or if it might have been done by a talented company employee. There's no blurb in the table of contents, or somewhere giving any information on the cover?
