Santa Calling
Ephemera December 7th. 2008, 7:20pmBoy, wouldn’t that be something, to get a phone call from Santa Claus himself? In spite of what this vintage postcard might imply, I find it hard to believe that he’d have time to do much of this. After-all, the guy busts his tail making his deliveries, so once he’s done I’m sure that making follow-up calls is the furthest thing from his mind. Once he’s had a couple days of sleep Santa’s probably thinking about nothing but pointing that sleigh towards Tahiti. And then there’s that whole long-distance charge thing. Of course I suppose he could call collect…

Now that I’ve joined the ranks of phone collectors I no longer have to think about what to get friends or family for Christmas. I just send them pictures of my different phones and let them chose their favorite. My sister chose a classic 1947 WE 302. She has good taste. They make nice heavy presents!

Great minds think alike. I was just polishing a model 500 that’s going to be a Christmas gift!

I wonder if Santa uses an iPhone or an Android phone in 2010? He’d have to be hooked up with Twitter and Facebook in order to communicate as he traveled the world. No?

Santa probably needs either of those devices to navigate the globe. I read that Google Maps was his favorite.
