I recently bought this ordinary tan ITT 500 in Lancaster, PA a few weeks ago. It caught my eye because the housing did not match the rest of the phone and it is marked Western Electric. I know it is soft plastic because of the awful smell it has and the date is stamped on the inside front of the housing which is 1955. I am curious if the housing alone could go for quite a bit of money because I really don't have a use for it. It has a small crack on the front right corner and a long scratch from the right side to the back. Let me know what you all think.

Nice. I'd say it's rose. They didn't make light beige until 1957. Nice job!

Definitely Rose Beige! Congratulations!!

Is the chassis original? If not, you can find a 1955 chassis, black #7 dial, Bakelite handset, black cords, and it could bring some money in an auction.
