Title: A.E. hookswitch pileups
Post by: Russ62 on January 16, 2020, 07:39:55 PM
Why do A.E. 60 and 80 series payphones and even Grays with A.E. components have a fifth leaf to specifically disconnect the ringer even though you can pick up any phone even one with a 4 leaf pile up and it will stop ringing. Also 60 and 80 series payphones have a built in ringer capacitor, even though I have come across dozens of A.E. types 21, 32, and 33 ringer boxes over the years, I have never seen one that was wired with just a ringer, with out a capacitor specifically to use with these phones.                             Russell
