Could this be worth the effort?

I recently stumbled upon this is an advertisement for a local estate sale.

I asked them if there was a manufacturer's name on it, but that was seconds ago  :P

I wanted to go ahead and get this on the waves, as I have very little, if any, experience with wooden phones.

Although I know they go for a good amount, and so do their parts!

I'd love to know how much I should pay for this deal.

They don't have any other pictures listed of the phone.  :-[

I know these estate people love to go retail on just about everything; Antique stores are just as bad   ::)

I would so appreciate anybody's knowledge of this particular phone. I would love to get a figure as to what I should spend on this phone.

If I am able to buy the phone at a good price, I would be open to any sort of deals with anyone on the forum.

Thank you much!

Offer them $20 and find out how they respond.

Partyline4

I wouldn't be surprised if they get some chump to pay $150-$300 for it....

andre_janew

True, but you've got to start negotiations somewhere.  If you offer $20 and they take it without question,  they might know even less about it than you do!

Partyline4

True,

Most estate sales are usually all about a massive profit the first day. The next couple of days is when things get marked down.

At least in NC that is....

That phone won't sit long.

A lot people on the forum seem to live in the North Carolina area.

We'll see!

Got a message from the estate sale website.

They say it's a Stromberg and Carlson.......

I asked her if $60 would take it off her hands....

I'll keep y'all posted!

Might be a good resto project. Who knows?

They postponed the estate sale for the SECOND TIME!

This is getting ridiculous!

They won't take any negotiations over the phone yet.....

I might be able to work some magic.

Is the front of the phone (door) part of the sale? I don't see it in the photo.

That's a negative poplar.

Just the guts you see here!

Personally, unless you really need something out of it I wouldn't buy it incomplete for $60.

I would say don't buy it also. I feel its going to be a money sinkhole if you plan to restore it. Just wait, better deals will come.

I think you guys are right.

I'm letting it go.

Better luck next time!
