I consider this a great book to have on hand. Excellent for those wanting to get familiar with W.E. and the larger independents.

Great book. I got it from the library. BDM wouldn't stand for Bad Dude Meyer, would it ;)

Yep, that book has often been recommended as one of the first and main books for the phone collector both beginner and experienced.  I got mine at Amazon:

Yup, that's a great book. I also got mine on Amazon.

I'm still looking for a reasonably-priced copy (Xerox OK) of the great book by Larry Wolfe. The copies I've seen have been well over $40, and being retired in a bad economy, that's just more than I can swing these days.

Bill, I haven't heard of the book by Larry Wolfe but would be glad to help look and hopefully find a better price.  A quick search on Google didn't find it. To many "Larry Wolfes" in this world.  Is it out of print?  Do you have the title or any other info that might help in a search?

Another good book I have is "Telephones Antique to Modern":

Thanks BDM,
Well Bill I looked around and yes, the best price I could find is also from PhoneCo for $39. plus unknown shipping.  The author sells it for $50. plus unknown shipping.  Ouch.  Maybe someone in the group has one?  It's 179 pages to xerox. (for educational purposes, of course... ) 8)
