These days, doctors recommend vapeing to get you off the cigarettes (even if the governments keep wanting to ban them cos they're not reaping the tax money from e-cigarettes and vape pipe things!!)... :D

Back then, about the worst effect from smoking that anyone thought existed was that it could "stunt your growth" if you started too young.

The ad is quite reflective of that time.   Even Santa recommended it.



There are several more smoking-doctor ads here, plus some history.   No phones, though.

It is, indeed.  I think the notion that doctors and Santa were once promoting cigarettes will probably dominate the thread, and we will loose sight of the A1.
