I'm trying to convert a 554 to a 558, I have the key mounted, but I cannot find a way to mount the plunger. could someone show me a picture of the inside of a set with this type of plunger so I can fabricate something?
Thanks.

If you have the parts, these photos should help you mount them.

If you don't, it might be a lot simpler to buy a 558 than try to fabricate the switch and plunger.  The switch needs to reset when the handset is replaced on hook.

Looks like I just need to make an L bracket. Thanks Paul.

You're welcome, Evan.

What's not obvious from the photos is that the connection between the L-bracket and switch assembly is not rigid, allowing some movement when the housing is installed and so there is little stress on the hole in the housing.
