I think this is a 300 series . Only date I can see is 1939 .

It seems to be Bakelite .

I would need a handset for it .
Never met a phone I didn't like !

It's a 302. You need a F1 handset and a dial center.

It's definitely 300-series.  To verify the model number, you need to look inside.  Finding a mounting code and looking it up helps.  It's always wise to compare the actual internal components to verify that something hasn't been changed in refurb.

Somewhere on here is a post describing how to get rid of the paint splatter.

The model is usually stamped beside the rear hole where the cord comes out. H1 or H3 etc.......

Body is Tenite not bakelite.

Question  !  Can Tenite be glued ?

If so , what would you recommend to use ?

I was going to try crazy glue and clamp it tight for 24 hrs .

It is not a bad crack and there are no pieces broken off !

Super glue works very well on the plastic.  Apply the glue to the inside of the cracks.  The thermoplastic shrinks with age, so the corners of the shell tend to crack as the plastic squeezes the base.  The edges of the base can be bent inward a bit by hitting them gently with a hammer (remove the feet first), so the shell will fit more easily over it.

Another way to bend the base in, is to use an adjustable wrench.  Tighten the wrench up on the base lip and bend inward.  Its easy to control this way.
