Can anyone please give some info on this.
Is it factory produced or an after market piece made from a subset?
Can anyone explain the holes?

Thanks.

It is a variation of a BTMC telephone. The holes allow a dial adaptor to be attached.

Some were made in the US when the Belgian factory was indisposed during and just after WW1.

I have this variation.
Yours appears to have an extra hole near the front of the case that I don't have.

I also have a slightly different one that I pictured in this thread - http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=22927.msg245660

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I will let this one pass me by. Looking at your images above I suspect there was a dial which has been removed. But if a nice Mercedes dial had been present....  8)
