Added this cute little Candlestick telephone number add on to the collection. Not sure what it is called, hoping a member here will be able to tell us.

Attaches to a desk stand via a metal clip. Made of metal, pull down the roll (fabric) to write telephone numbers (this one untouched, no numbers written). Displayed here on a GPO No150 candlestick (the second phone to enter my collection, and my first stick).

I've seen similar in the US but never the UK. This one advertising 'John O'London's weekly'. A weekly magazine available each Saturday for the price of just tuppence.

Published in London between 1919 and 1954. First issue April 1919.

Gifted to me. Promotional item so we think manufactured for first issue or early 1920s during the magazines beginning to boost circulation.
