Is there a proper way to wire a 6T dial, (Design-Line phone dial), in a 202 D mount with a 684 subset?

6T and 6U are the same as F-56661 dial discussed earlier:

Also, there is almost no difference in a 202 hand telephone set + 684A subset and a 302 "combined" set.  They are  wired exactly the same, except that instead of 4 wires from  the top of the 302 to the base (as you would have with a 202 to the subset), there are 5 wires. The extra wire is the slate-red from R on the 5H dial to L1 on the induction coil.

You can wire a 302 just like a 202 by moving the red handset conductor to R on the dial, and replace the  slate-red jumper that is going from R on dial to L1 with a new jumper from R on dial to R on induction coil. You will now have 4 wires from the 302 housing to the 302 base (green from hookswitch to GN, new from R on dial to R on 101A, black  from BK on dial to capacitor, and yellow from hookswitch to L2-Y.)

So in a dial 202, the primary of the induction coil (L1 to R winding) is still in the circuit when the dial is wound up. This added resistance is not significant. Tip: Wiring a 302 this way, you can use a handset cord -- such as repro cloth cord -- that has leads too short to reach R on the induction coil, since all 3 handset wires go to the dial terminals W, BK, and R.
