In 1986, the french PTT issued a game.
Sorry, these pictures are a bit blurry. I'll make more tomorrow.
The game: the players must discover one other player's telephone number trough his/her name, first name, adress, and job. To achieve that, they have to build a telephone network through the country. Cards indicate events which may help- or destroy parts of the network (snowstorms...)
the PTT used these cards to advertise any services they offered back then- Radiocom 2000, Eurosignal, Minitel, and their phone models- touch-tone S63, T83 Chorus, Digitel 2000...
In the box was a small booklet, "get familiar with the PTT".
This box was brand-new, still packed in its clear plastic foil since 1986!

French is my native language, but I have never seen such a game here in Quebec/Canada.

I wonder if this game is similar in concept to the Mille Bornes game where you draw cards for mileage and cards that can block your progress.

Board games are great fun. We have a cupboard full of them, a traditional Christmas wouldn't be the same without.

Here is the synopsis of this Allo game:
Quatrième de couverture du jeu :
But du jeu : par déduction et logique, découvrir le premier, le numéro de téléphone d'un adversaire. Pour cela établir des réseaux entre les villes et interroger les joueurs sur leur ville, leurs nom et prénom, leur profession. Mais attention aux cartes "évènement" qui risquent de brouiller les pistes !

Back cover of the game:

Object of the game: by deduction and logic, discover first, the phone number of an opponent. To do this, establish networks between cities and ask players about their city, their first and last name, their profession. But beware of the "event" cards which may confuse the issue!

This looks like a good idea.  It was good public relations for the PTT, and it helped educate the public on the difficulties and complexities of operating a telecommunications network.
