Anyone looking for a great price for an AE payphone, check out:

Not mine! $85 plus shipping Lowest price on an AE payphone I have seen for several years! Looks to be in pretty good shape. I don't want it - I have the same phone here, but don't need another, so someone get a deal from the fellow.

It is at an Antique Store in Victoria British Columbia. Shipping to US is consequently a little steep. Even the AE 40 without chrome trim that the same store has listed is $95 plus shipping.

Dave: you need to get rid of the long link and just keep the tinyurl. The long link is creating the "Internet Explorer - posts are too wide for me to get access to the reply buttons on the lower right" syndrome!

Actually, shipping isn't bad - he lists $65 shipping to either US or Canada. Last AE Payphone I got, I paid just about $100 for shipping from the US...

That fixed the "too wide problem".

I was thinking more that the shipping was steep for a US buyer who is used to the lower rates within the USA. I have seen 3 slots quoted with $25 to $35 shipping within the USA.

A good buy on a 3 slot though.

Realistically, shipping a payphone within the USA shouldn't cost more than about $20 by Parcel Post.  I shipped one for about $18.

No wonder USPS is going bankrupt :-) We couldn't ship a toothbrush across the border for $20!

Never the less, we are talking a phone which would go for $200 plus on eBay so paying more for shipping will still leave an incredible bargain.

For me, I don't bat an eyelash with prices for shipping like this as I am completely used to it.

Still, combining the purchase price with the shipping cost, it comes out to less that any sell for on eBay (let alone shipping). I am surprised that no-one has picked this up.

Go figure...
