I have a few AE phones but i have yet to see a date on the transmitter and reciever inserts until now. My recent purchase has dates on the inserts. Which leads me to the question of when did A.E. put dates on the inserts ? I have always liked the way WE/NE put dates on their equiptment. Hope some knows as i find it interesting.

I think I have occasionally seen dates like you have there, but it is rare with AE. I don't think they kept it up for long. What is your new purchase that had these dated capsules?

As Terry says, this is a very rare occurrence of AE components dated when manufactured.

Indeed a collector's item.

Some of the AE equipment for the military was dated.

Maybe a military contract requirement at some point forced them to do it!
