Auction 230: WE 1958 Light Blue Soft Plastic? 500 U Mushroom - Ended 10-07-16

New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about 3 hours ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve starting at $25.00 is what appears to be another very nice light blue WE 500 U Mushroom that's two months older (10/58) than the subject phone in Auction Contest 227 and a 14 months older than the subject phone in Auction Contest 222.  This one may be soft plastic based on its date but the receiver cap is not shown. The seller provided limited external photos. The cradle has residue form a sticker. Other than that, it seems the phone is original. Within the 3 hours of being listed, the phone attracted 2 buyers upping the starting the price to a still low $102.50. The phone should increase but how much is once again the question, that of who best knows what this item will sell for when the auction ends?

This is a real double "deja vu" contest in that we have recent history of a very similar phone which sold for $547 in August with 10 buyers placing 11 bids and the one that sold for $587 in mid September with 12 buyers placing 16 bids. As you may remember, none of the bidders for the first phone bid on the second phone. It will be interesting to see who shows up to bid on this 3rd phone.

NOTE: because of that recent auction, in order to allow members to enter a guess, we will use a $3 gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $3 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it as an "Vintage WESTERN ELECTRIC Blue Rotary Dial Desk Phone Bell System Aqua Blue Teal" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " and with the auction listing description saying simply "1958 dial phone it has the button to place on hold and a lite at top left."
