AECo Rubber Base Ring Gaskets - New Reproductions Available

I have an AE40 that has a very dry rubber base ring.  I want to remove it to thoroughly clean the base and also try to make it more supple but it wants to crack when I try to remove it.  Any suggestions as to how to remove it without damage and how to make it easier to work with.

Same problem I have with some of the rubber cords. i don't know that anything can be done with brittle rubber.

Gary Goff will mail you a new one for $11 including shipping. I think they are still $11. They are good reproductions but do look slightly different.
