Question about "LR" designation in a 500's manufacturing code

In the following auction, the seller is offering NOS black 1985 ITT 500s that she says were military surplus. In the picture of the side of the box, I noticed the letters "LR" in the manufacturing code. To my knowledge this stands for "less ringer" (no ringer). If it had a ringer, the code should read BA, as I understand it. Can anyone confirm the meaning of "LR"? I've already alerted the seller to this possibility, and she replied that she would update her listing if the phones in fact don't contain ringers, as she had no idea whether they did or not.

I don't have an answer for the LR.  I looked on Paul Fassbender's site and can't locate any information about phones made that late.  Here is the link to his site: http://mysite.verizon.net/paul-f/we500typ.htm

But if it has a ringer inside it may be evident by looking at the bottom at the ringer volume wheel or switch (whatever it has).  Maybe she could show a photo of the interior of the phone.
