I hate to say it, but if there were, you wouldn't want one quite as much! ;)

Very true.

In fact, I think, if clear telephone housings had been a standard catalog item and were plentiful, they'd probably be the least desirable, and take the place of light beige.  I find nothing particularly attractive about them, rather the opposite, the plastics are invariably discolored into brown-yellow, except for Arwin's recent nice find.  Rarity alone is not a good enough reason for me to fight over one with money. There are many other rare things in life and nature that are prettier.

My First Ever Clear!! :)
That is a "branded"  Northern Telecom 2500 ( I think E). I was told they made a large run of the 2500 ( E?) sets and the final run was the smoky tint clear sets. The smoke tint run was  for the employees that were making them.  I think Northern did the same on some of the other sets. In my opinion,They are harder to find the a WE 2500 in clear .
Good find,

Heres the Base of the 2500 Smoked... and You are correct, it was for the employees, It was an Ebay purchase, originally for the Displayphone you see in the pics,i emailed to see if it worked, and the seller and I got chatty, I ended up with all 4 items, he was selling them for a friend, whos father was an Executive at Northern in Toronto Ontario years ago and they had been sitting in the basement for years!

Here is some auction photos of my clear ATT International touchmatic. It has a volume control handset. There is a slight beige swirl from a few pellets of  beige getting into the mix. The swirl is shown in the last photo.

Here is some clear buttsets.
I own the three shown together.
The 1970's style is an AE. The other is a harriss TS-21 and what appears to be a professional model of a buttset

The photo of a single set is a WE buttset. It is not mine.

The Clear ATT modern buttset  and the clear ATT 1970's butt set are not mine either

Jim S.

was having trouble with the photos. There are 2 each of the 1970's WE and of the modern ATT
