I am trying to buy a PMG 300AT phone from a distant craigslist seller.  He is asking $35.  I do not know about the working condition of the phone.  The seller states that there is no notable damage.  What do you think?

Thank You

Larry

It is just what you are used to seeing Kenny. Remco can probably ID lots of the European stuff in his sleep.

The same seller is also trying to sell a French phone with some damage and offered it to me for cheap.  It appears to be missing the receiver capsule and cup.  If anyone is interested in the phone for repair or parts, I can let the seller know.

It's a nice phone and unusual to find in the US. $35 seems to be a reasonable price, because shipping from Australia would cost at least that. I got mine at the phone show for $2, although mine doesn't have that interesting dial card.

Kyle,

I saw the pictures of yours that you posted.  If I had time to go to shows, I might pick up things like this.  Anyway, I agreed to the price and am trying to work out an arrangement with the seller now.  He is 650 miles away, so it is a bit complicated.  I bought a 1938 302 from a craigslist seller in New York City recently, and that went well.  He followed my instructions and I got a really great phone for a good price, but I never know whom I can trust.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the PMG 300AT?  The seller is supposed to ship it by Priority Mail next week, and I want to make sure that it will fit into a medium box.

From the picture it appears to be a little smaller than a 302 so it should fit fine :)
Unless he has really big hands ;D

It's 10.5 inches wide (from the handset), and 7.5 inches long and almost 6 inches tall.

The phone arrived this afternoon, and it is rather a mess.  The dial was full of what looked like greasy mud.  The dial contacts were mostly bent out of position (not hard to do on a GPO type dial).  The insides of the shell are mostly just dusty.  I managed to get the handset to work by moving a wire.  I need to study the wiring diagram to figure out how this should be wired.  I suspect that a previous owner rearranged some things.

On the positive side, the bakelite is in very good condition.  There are remnants of green paint in various places, so apparently, this phone was once painted green.  Was that a factory option?
