I agree. If you're going to spend any money on phones, get desirable sets. These off-the-wall and unusual sets can be had later on.
I will admit it has a very definite appeal. But I've always liked odd office equipment for some reason.
I very much like this phone in all its space age glory.
Does it communicate with the other planets? It is pretty cool.
I bid on something else. It went here. I deleted this one.
Bill Cahill :( >:(
Nicceeee! I like these very George Jetson looking sets.
I like the phone, but I'm not going to bid on it as there are other phones that I want in my collection first.

Hmm, come to think of it, this store is in my neighborhood, but I discovered it before I got into vintage phones. I'll go by there tomorrow to see if they have inter-planetary phones:
the Du Kane Intercom, I like it! I love collecting vintage office equiptments. I'm now starting to collect typewriters
I can imagine that second phone talking to you when it's someone you don't want to talk to... "Danger Will Robinson...."

What exactly does Space Travel Supply Co do?
Perhaps it's a small Mom and Pop bricks and mortar store jobbie that specializes in modest space travel?
Ah yes, that explains it. ;)
They have a website... cool stuff!

Greenwood Space Travel really does have some interesting items that nobody should be without...

I was in there today and asked them if they had any interplanetary telephones or communication devices. Unfortunately, they did not. However, they did have 4 and 18 setting translators and other interesting stuff:
Gotta get me one o' them there black hole starter kits, create a wormhole, go back in time to 1949 and buy up all the prototype WE 500s.
Buy? From Ma Bell? Heck just "borrow" a couple and come back! Who would know? ;)
You couldn't buy those from Ma Bell, gotta rent 'em!
Yeah, that's the ticket. Lease all the original 500s from Ma Bell in 1949, and then woosh them back to the future with the handy Dutch war phone, a la Jules Verne.
It works for me...Que theremin music. 8)
