I am off til the New Year and I am looking for a part I promised a fellow collector. I found two pretty beat Metal 302.

I posted the 3/46, but this is even stranger. Base and ringer are dated 7/40 coil III 40. But is the gongs, nickel 40D and 40E. I wired it up and they ring beuatifully. This is my second first of the day!...Doug

I have never seen 302 gongs that were nickeled before.  Perhaps they were made of steel rather than brass, and nickeled to keep them from rusting.  Was there a war-time date on the ringer?

40D and 40E are the gong numbers and not dates.

David....you are amazing!! They definitely sound different.  The look really caught me off guard as I thought they had been nickeled. This is perfect for the WE completest...Doug
