AE 34 Rotary Dial Assembly

I have an  early (ratcheting sound) and a later (no sound on wind up) dial assembly.  Is it possible to change out parts on the early one to make it "silent" like the later one?  The reason is that the early one is chrome (correct) and the latter one, the silent one is brass after someone stripped it.  This may be more trouble than it is worth, but I thought I would ask.

What are the dials & dates? I may have a "silent' one I would be willing to trade for the "noisy" one.

Easy to change the fingerwheels from one to the other if that is the concern.
