New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about 9 hours ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve starting at $14.99 is an interesting 1955 WE 544 with round buttons, straight cords, G1 handset and a dial blank.  From the internal and external images provided, the phone seems to be in good physical condition including the base and feet. Since being listed, the phone has received 7 bids from 4 buyers raising the list price to $40. It will go higher but based on a discussion of this phone in another topic on the forum (good place to discuss this phone), how much higher is the question. So who best knows what this phone will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE:  We will use a $3 gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $3 away from prior guesses for this contest. All guesses, original and a single allowed revised guess if needed, must be submitted at least 24 hours before the auction ends.

The seller listed it as an "1955 Round Button Western Electric 544 Four Button Key Telephone" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " and with the auction listing description saying "Somewhat rare Western Electric 4 button key set. It is marked 544 A 5-55 on bottom of base. End of the line cord is cut off. Buttons work freely. Untested otherwise.  The soft plastic housing has a date of 4 28 55. The C4 ringer, 425B network, U1 receiver unit and T1 transmitter unit all have a date 55. The G1 handset is marked 2-5 inside. The three conductor H4BF receiver cord is in excellent condition and also has a date of 55. No cracks or chips in the housing or handset, just minor wear"
