Title: Ringer not working on rotary phone
Post by: leesdaytona on December 22, 2017, 10:09:48 PM
Greetings, and thank you for adding me onto this forum! I bought this phone probably 15 years ago at a yard sale. I removed the wire that was originally hard wired to the phone jack and installed a new wire with the plug on the end. It worked fine for several years at my parents house, though it began to interfere with the Sloman's Shield alarm system. I took it out of service, and have since moved into my own house. I purchased a "dial gizmo" to make my rotary actually work on Verizon's phone line. The phone works fine but will no longer ring. Another newer rotary phone I have (dated 1983) rings perfectly on the dial gizmo.
Any advice or input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Lee

What type of phone service and provider do you have (assuming VOIP since you are using a DialGizmo)?

Did the ringer ever work?

Where is the red wire coming from the ringer? It should be where your red from the line cord connects......Doug
