Title: Early AE40?
Post by: Fabius on March 26, 2017, 10:10:41 PM
Listed with a good BIN. It appears the seller misidentified this phone or posted the wrong picture. Notice the felt bottom cover. I have no connection to this item.

Yes, an AE 40?, not a SC 1243.

Looks like someone glued felt on the bottom for protection of a table top. Fuzzy pictures but seems the vents are in good condition. Sharp looking dial with what looks like a factory number plate, in black?

Here's a metal 1243 for comparison.

Suspected due to war shortages (but not confirmed) of rubber for the ring/gasket led to them using felt on the base of some AE40's.

That's all it was, a BIN at $12.95 plus $15 or so in shipping. No make an offer, no auction with a BIN.
