For those of you that are curious as I was, a couple of pics of inside a WE 425E network ;D

I'm not positive but isn't the goo just a silicone based Dielectric to keep moisture out. It's basically harmless.

Also, I'm curious. If say the equalizer would malfunction in my 48-500, would it be possible to remove the parts from a 425 network and put them into the equalizer of the 48-500 to replace the tube if it failed ?

Yeah, I believe the goo is dielectric for moisture and temperature protection :-\
I would assume you could transfer components from one network to another ???

If your equalizer failed, you could replace it with a resistor.

Numerous things, a Q-tip, a small screwdriver, car intake cleaner, electronics parts cleaner & alcohol ;D
