Listed about an hour ago (with thanks to Fabius for sending me a link to this listing) in a 7 day auction with no reserve in what appears to be, in very nice condition, a "brown" OST receiver. The only thing I noticed while putting this contest together is a missing diaphragm, but, then again, I know little about these other than they are desirable, especially if brown? Bakelite. The receiver was listed at $9.99 and, as of this post, is sitting at $9.99 with 1 bid. Comments and discussion of this item are always invited. So, once again, who knows best what this receiver will sell for when the bidding ends?

The seller listed it as an "OAK WALL PHONE EAR PIECE" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " with the auction listing description as "I AM SELLING AN ANTIQUE EAR PIECE FOR AN OLD WALLPHONE   IT APPEARS IN GOOD CONDITION, WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS, OR BREAKS.   IT IS A BROWN COLOR INSTEAD OF BLACK."

NOTE: we will use a 3% gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, guess gaps of 6+% can be split. I'll help with these as the auction goes forward and guesses are entered.

It's another chance to move up a rung or to get onto the CRPF -> Contest Standings <- list, for as twocvbloke said,   ---> "You gotta be in it to win it !!!" ;D "

New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

The missing diaphragm is no big deal. They can be found for $1 or even less.

Here's the 3% "no crowding" gap spreadsheet for this contest with 10 guesses.

Seller says the receiver is Brown, which he considers to be more rare than Black.  Actually wouldn't a black one be more rare?  I have several of these, marked and unmarked, and they are all various shades of brown.  All the WE receivers seem to have faded to brown over the years.  Does anyone actually have a solid black one?
