New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

This very nice pot belly candlestick with a OST receiver and a terminal strip was listed 5 days ago with a reserve in a 7 day auction and was initially started as a Special Auction Contest. The reserve was met yesterday so this contest is hereby converted to a regular Auction Contest. The phone was listed at $500.00 and since then 9 buyers and 48 bids have bid the price up to $3,000.00 with a day and a half to go in the auction. The end of this auction should be interesting. So, who thinks they know what this will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE: We will use a $15.00 gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $15.00 away from prior guesses for this contest. Now being a regular contest, one guess is allowed with the ability to revise that guess once as long as all guesses and revisions are entered at least 24 hours before the auction ends.

The seller listed it as an "Rare Original American Electric Potbelly Telephone", the item condition as "Used" and "Nice original nickel with some brass showing through around the switch hook." and with the auction listing description saying "Original American Electric Potbelly in Outstanding Condition:  Nice early American Electric potbelly with original green line cords and coil. The marked base cover is stamped with the serial number 5739. The terminal strip inside the base is also marked 5739. The Burns receiver is in nice shape with no cracks. The coil has the American Electric tag on the wood base. There are no stress cracks in the pot and the phone has it's original nickel. This is one of the nicest potbellies I have seen in over 30 years of collecting. No attempts made at amateur restoration, just an outstanding phone that remains the same as the day it was taken out of service."

The reserve was met so the Special Auction Contest for this eBay auction has been converted to a normal CRPF Auction Contest.

About a half day to get your guesses in.

The auction ends in about a day and a half.

And the winner of Auction Contest #210 is compubit who with the 9th entry into the contest offered the winning guess of $3,000.00 (hitting the selling price right on the nose - how about that?)  giving him his 3rd auction contest win. So, once again, our congratulations go out to compubit for another win in the CRPF Auction Contests and for moving up one rung in the Contest Standings.

The phone was won by t***t ( 413 ) with his final of several bids in the auction which was placed about 2 days before the auction ended. There were no bids after that and no last second snipes so he took the phone home for a mere $3,000 plus $65 shipping. The phone moved up nicely for the first 5 days of the auction from its initial $500 to the winning bid. The auction saw 9 buyers placing 48 bids.

Check out the updated Contest Standings to see who's who through 210 contests and the latest additions to the CRPF Hall of Fame

Thanks again to all who played. As always, there is only one way to get on the winner's board or move up a rung - you have to play to win.
