New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed two days ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve ( with a thanks to WEBellSystemChristian for the link ) and starting at $9.99 is something new to these contests, a Western Electric 1965 "AUTOVON" set (seller stated). This set is included in paul-f's 1500 Keyset section stating the 1568HT is an Early touchtone keyset, relay for 2 or 4-wire operation.  Has 22-type dial with P (Priority) and SG (Special Grade) buttons,  and square line and hold buttons on key strip.  Has square buttons on key pad. Available in black only. Within an hour of being listed, it attracted its first bid so it will sell, but for how much more than $9.99?  So, once again, who best knows what this seemingly rare phone will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE:  There are just under 5 days left in this auction leaving 3 days from Wednesday morning to post your guesses.

NOTE: we will use a $3 gap rule between guesses again to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $3 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it (with minimal photos) as an "early western electric 1568HT black 6-65 scarce autovon telephone", the item condition as "used" and "bell labs phone number & area code" and with the auction listing description saying simply "western electric 1568HT black with chicago phone number. early and very scarce. e/w exclusion key hook."

It looks like a nice display set.

As usual, anyone thinking of bidding should ask for internal photos and compare what's there with the BSPs.

I just noticed that the faceplate is probably early '80s, with a bell logo on the lefthand side. I don't know how much that would affect the price, but it's interesting anyway.
