I have seen WE 534A subsets that have been updated with a 101A induction coil. Am I correct to assume that they are now anti-sidetone subsets and are now equivalent to the WE 634 and 684 subsets?

Thanks.

They are recoded as 634A when upgraded with a 101A induction coil. If the ringer is also upgraded to the B1AL ringer used in a 302, they are recoded 634BA.

Likewise, the 584A Bakelite subsets when upgraded to anti-sidetone are 684A, or 684BA with the B1AL ringer.

Yes, a 101A coil is, by definition, an antisidetone coil.

Thanks. The ones I seen, the reworked ID must have fallen off.

What does BP stand for?  As in the 495BP that was converted from a 295A.  It has the original ringer but the coil and condenser have been switched for a newer condenser.

I think the letters are chosen somewhat arbitrarily, but all the 495BPs I have seen have cowbells and are anti-sidetone.
