We haven't gotten any snow for the past month or so! We had a slight dusting a couple weeks ago, but it melted within the day!

I think it is about time we all quit getting snow and start getting rain!

We've been getting both today, along with sunshine and strong winds...  :-\

Correction:

I think it is about time we all quit getting snow and start getting rain warm sunny days!   :)

Rain on top of all this snow can cause serious flooding, especially before ice out.

Amen. With 17 feet o0f snow on the ground now in P.E.I., all we need is heavy rain. A gradual steady  melt is what we hope for.

We do have some concerns about Friday and Saturday:

Friday - Periods of rain. Low minus 2. High 9.

Saturday - Periods of rain. Low minus 1. High plus 5.

Long as the rain comes gently, it shouldn't be too bad, but if it comes fast, flooding is guaranteed to result.

I totally give up! This morning, a special weather statement on Environment Canada.

Special weather statement in effect for:
  • Queens County P.E.I.
Another winter storm possible on Saturday.

A low pressure system is forecast to pass just south of the island on Saturday. Significant snowfall amounts in excess of 15 centimetres are possible with this system.

Sigh!

Holy Cow! CBC has come out with an expected snow melt map for the Maritimes - PEI is not expected to be completely melted until May 25th! Yikes!

It's warm where we are today. My wife and I are on vacation in central Florida. That's a trailer load of oranges going by our motel.

This was taken last week.  My bus shelter was just a wee bit snowed in.
