Seamed E1 handset from 1921?

I noticed this listing on ebay and am confused.  This handset is listed as being from 1921, and yet it is seamed.  I thought the first ones were seamless?

This seller should know better than to date the handset at 1921.

Also, the F-type transmitter element wasn't developed until the early 1930s.

There's a good history of E handsets in Larry Wolff's book, Desk Telephones of the Bell System.
