I have two of this Sapphire Payphones from two different countries.
One is from germany and one from norway.

Has here someone information about this phone, I  looking for a payphone file to bring the phone in working.
The phone looking in case of comissioning for an update server to get the charge- and other information.
I think it is like the Protel software.

I looking for people who can help me.

Thank you,

Looks like the ones BT still uses over here in places, given they're still used, it's probably quite unlikely you'll be able to source the software to make them work as telephone suppliers could see it as compromising their current and active payphones...

TwoCV: would that be the Phone that BT began using in the 1980's?

I recall travelling GB and Europe in 1983 and calling home to Canada at a phone in GB where the largest coin accepted was 10P which was good for just a few seconds of International LD but by 1985 when we again travelled GB I recall a phone similar to this one that now accepted the 1 pound coins.

The "new" ones you experienced in the 1980s would probably have been these types:

The "Sapphire" types were introduced sometime in the 90s, they're much more modern, even though the 24 & 25 types are still in use, but updated with text messaging functions and 12 button keypads... :)

Do you have photos of the payphone including photos of the insides?  I think they use a payphone management system that runs on Windows that is possisibly called open payphone management system, but I don't know much more then that.  If the is booting up it sounds like everything is there.

Trying to get payphones from other countries working can be tough, many were part smart part dumb or a hybrid. Just like a Protel could be a hybrid depending on how it was programed. the Central Office dial tone also was different in many cases as was line voltage.

I don't know if they still do, but the older BT payphones used timed pulses from the exchange to meter the calls and allow functions on the phone to operate, whether or not they still do, well, you'd have to ask a BT payphone maintenance tech, but as I've pointed out, those Sapphire phones are still in current use (several around where I live, most in terrible shape due to years of vandalism) so the manufacturer wouldn't want to release software to the public to make them work in case the info is used to abuse the phones in service...
