Talk with Bill. I believe antique televisions are right up his alley.

Here's my latest acquisition. A Philco 37-116X high fidelity. This was at the top of Philco's line for 1937. It has adjustable bandwidth for clean fidelity. Something to be heard in the AM broadcast band. This thing is a beast to restore. Looking at the under chassis in the link below, you'll see a slew of caps that will need replacing. That is the sub-chassis also know as the RF deck. It needs to come apart. Believe me, it's not for the beginner and I'm nervous. I've done the smaller ones, but this will be a new one for me.

The cabinet is amazing!  Sometimes the beauty and care that went into all the veneer work on cabinets just leaves me in awe.  Of course, the capacitors in the chassis leave me in a different kind of awe... ;)
What? BDM nervous about working on a radio?  It it possible?  Actually that gives me a little confidence to at least look inside my very first radio (T/O H500) today.  Don't worry, I won't plug it in! Have been doing a lot of reading up and will take it slow and deliberate.  Will post pics in the next few days.  Hope to see progress report pics on the Philco.

Oh yes, this can be a delicate operation. Have a look at this link and see what I mean. You have to watch what you're doing. Coil damage can happen fast & easy

Our entire community electrical hub facility looks slightly smaller yet somehow similar.  :o
