Title: Crosley Model 03CB
Post by: Fabius on September 02, 2016, 12:09:25 AM
I've wanted an unusual console with a bid round dial for a while now. A few days ago I was in South Bend Indiana and I checked out Craigslist and saw this Crosley. Called and then want to look at it. Pretty good condition with original grill cloth though the knobs aren't correct and 3 pushbuttons are missing. I've found the knobs though the push buttons will be harder. I'll just have to wait ubtill a junker Crosley shows up,

The seller said it didn't work and he had no antenna to put on it. I asked him to plug it in (yes, a risky undertaking). I saw that the band selector was set to POLICE which now a days has very little traffic on it. It had an internat antenna that the seller didn't see. I changed the band to BROADCAST (AM) and it received and played loud and clear. Now the seller started having second thoughts about selling. I was worried I'd lose it so I offered $100 and the seller just wouldn't agree until the wife came over and told him in no uncertain terms to "take it!"

10 tube chassis with 14"? speaker. From 1941.
