Hi everybody, I bought a few telephones at auction here in England and one in particular has intrigued me as its quite unusual (for me anyhow, I do not know much about old phones, only that I like the look of them)

If anyone has any knowledge about such phones? Please could you respond, thanks in advance,

heres some pics:

I have listed it on ebay here in England if anyone is interested, anyways thanks very much

Its referred to as a "crocodile phone" the french version has the ubiquitous mother-in-law watch receiver, the GPO ones don't AFAIK.

Theres a similar GPO version at Telephone Lines for a cool £89.

It is a funky looking phone, I like it. It will attract some attention alongside "normal" phones. It is well worth keeping.

It didn't do so well on the "revolting phones" thread!

Some people have taste, some don't.
Take that statement either way you want. :D

That is some interesting phone. It looks like a keyset (as they are known in the US). However, I think it must have been used in a small factory or business, judging by all the names near the buttons.

Do you know if it needs a PBX to work?

I really love the look of it. Really funky, I half expect Morpheus to be calling me up any second... ;)
