How I found soft 554's

The info on the 554 date came from Rich Mountjoy's book, 100 Years of Bell Telephones. P. 164. listed as early 1954, with a dull cradle.  No this is not the final word, but this is were I got my info from.

Yes Paul F. site is a very good sorce but I don't look there as much as I should, some times.

My Black 554 is a 4-55.
(side note: my NOS Ivory 354 is a 5-16-55) (about as close as I will get to my BD, witch is 5-8, and  was Mother's Day Sunday)

As for the Black cradle, I have never hear of that or remember seeing one. Now I have something new to look for.
