Just curious.  Is the ringer for a TP6A  phone interchangeable with Western/Northern Electric B series ringers?

rdelius

It should fit and work fine

Even though it looks much different?

The tp6a sets were made by North, Conn, and WE . All the working parts would interchange even they looked somewhat different.

As I understood it, the TP-6A was made by Connecticut and was part of a group of seven telephones identified as TP-6. The telephones themselves were interchangeable but the components generally, were not. This does not, of course, prevent certain parts from being interchangeable - North, Northern and WE for example.

Is this not the case?

Edit:

I did some looking and the above is not quite right. The TP-6A is not one of the TP-6 telephones. It is entirely different and and its parts are incompatible with all of them except for the WE 302.

I guess this means that the answer to the original question is yes.
