Does anyone (Paul Fassbender maybe?) have a pic of just what a ringer looks like on one of these? Can't find one here right now to look at, and I just picked up a North wall phone that is missing the ringer. I've got 100's of ringers, but would kind of like to narrow down my search parameters ;-)  !

Ray, I happen to have one of those hanging in the dungeon.  These photos are from file photos I had of the phone and also one I took just now.  It MAY be a frequency ringer as it wouldn't ring when I just tried it but it's original to the phone, I'm sure.

Hope it helps.

Yes it does; thanks!  Just my luck; a weird ringer ;-)  Your's doesn't look like a frequency ringer tho; clapper looks 20hz.  Maybe I can shoehorn a WE500 ringer in there; they look close...

I thought mine was not a frequency ringer, as you said.  It's probably just not wired correctly.  I've never taken the time to fiddle with it.

A ringer from a 500/554 will fit into a North 541.  I have done that.

There are a few photos here:

NICE!

Thanks Paul! I have never seen that little book. Too bad it didn't have a nice COLOR page to illustrate the variations.

You're welcome, Ray.

While the handbook doesn't have a page to show the colors, at least one does exist.  One is in a brochure in my "to-be-scanned-someday" pile.

There's a quick snapshot on my site and copied below.

Thanks; VERY cool!
I notice that it doesn't show the Dark Gray of which I have seen an example of, and the Green of which is the ONLY color of these that I have never ever come across. These colored North 541's have to be literally the RAREST colored desk-sets in existence!

The one in the bottom of the picture is "Executive Gray" which looks almost black. Another is "Tawny Green" is that the green you were talking about?
