How did NE/NT address polarity issues with tone dials?

Dear Forum:

I am wanting to know how NE/NT may have addressed  polarity issues with tone dial sets,  particularly their versions of the Princess,  and how they did it, please?

I know with the networks, developed for the 1702 and 2702's the integrated hook design most likely disallowed going at it as WE did by wiring the guard to C & F of the network, and the white and green wires of the hook switch to the polarity guard.

So,  I'm wondering if NE/NT had developed practices/procedures to tell how to address it as it came up?  I know later NE/NT dials had polarity guards, built in,  but I don't know if it carried over to the 1702 and 2702 designs.

I imagine they developed something to address it,  but I have no idea what.

If any CRPF member can enlighten me,  or find something from NE/NT documents that would address polarity with tone sets,  or if they developed polarity guards that could be added In to a existing set,  I would be grateful.

Thank you,  Rototech99
