I've been looking for an early 500 with the straight handset cord. Many I see on Ebay are kinked/damaged where the cord enters the strain relief at the handset end. This seems to be the weak point on these cords. My question is: how easy is it to work with that strain relief to hide, or perhaps remove, the damaged cord section? I know the coiled cords slide fairly easily in the strain relief and then the metal crimp can be moved up, but I have not worked with a straight 500 cord. Thanks for the input! Paul
the straight cord strain relief is moulded as part of the cord... i was considering heatshrink tubing as a possible fix
