New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about 8 hours ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve and starting at $10.00 is what really may be a rare telephone. Seems to be a complete WE 1511 D project phone with the base dated 4-66. paul-f's site describes this phone as "Two line with extension set exclusion (raise left plunger), push/turnkey for line selection and signaling, and wired for speakerphone." The seller provided a good array of external only images, including the amplified handset, and other than being a sticker magnet, it seems to be in good condition including the base which has limited corrosion. It was last serviced in January of 1984. Since being listed, the phone received 3 bids from 3 buyers raising the price to $12.00. It will go higher but again the question is who best knows what the phone will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE:  We will use a $3.00 gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $3.00 away from prior guesses for this contest. All guesses, original and a single allowed revised guess if needed, must be submitted at least 24 hours before the auction ends.

The seller listed it as a "Vintage western electric bell system Green G6 amplified Push Button Mute/hold" with the item condition as "Used" and " -- " and with the auction listing description saying simply "Actual pictures of item I'm selling. It's dusty but it works. I pulled this from a old house. The lady who owned the house is selling her house." Seller is obviously not a phone collector.

Sloppy field modular conversion. Not done with a notching tool. Take that into consideration.  Does, however, have the translucent faceplate. Could be resurrected as a non-modular set with a different housing and handset.

That probably happened when the elderly lady, from whom this phone was taken, asked for the amplified handset. Line cord was not notched only the handset.

Early 1500 housings are noticeably thicker when compared to the 2500 housings.
Just an observation,
