Title: Art Deco?
Post by: Konrad on January 10, 2009, 08:36:22 AM
If Art Deco was a popular international design movement from 1925 until 1939 how can the WE 500 first released in 1949 be Art Deco?  ???

Looks like a 55 model to me. It was obviously painted black over white.

"Art Deco" is one of the most frequently misused terms on ebay.  To far too many people, if it's modern, it's art deco.

I agree on the overuse of the term Art Deco.  Lots of phones are listed as Art Deco that are not even close, such as this model 500 which is just a nice clean modern design.

I generally do not agree to that phrase, A common misuse phrase on eBay. I can say Art Deco for AE40, but not for WE500

The next time I sell something, anything, on eBay, I'm going to call it something different... Art Nouveau!
