If you look at the underneath of the AE80, yes, it does look like forget-me-not blue on the inside. Definitely not fade-me-not, if you get my drift. Both phones look like they were originally an aqua blue color and UV and tobacco smoke have faded them to more of a greenish hue. If you look inside the handset caps, you will see the original color. Still, they were a good deal at $2.

Wow in California I hardly ever see rotaries for sale, and if there is one it will be at least $50 for an "ultra rare 500".

Now that you mention it, Bushman has discovered what seems to be a good area for finding phones, Portland OR.  In just the short time I've been bitten by the phone bug, the majority of my good finds have been in Portland area, starting with my NEC.

I just opened up the AE and the outside color is the same as the inside. I assume that means it is seafoam green. The number plate is miscolored. The 500 I already knew was uv damaged. It should be light blue not blue green.
