I ran into an unexpected problem with my Type 51 Tafel PTT telephone... The dial is not "outpulsing" (dialing) correctly. It appears to have excess lubricant that fouled the contacts.I've attempted correcting this without success...

Does anyone know whom might have another PTT dial they can spare, or suggest a compatible replacement dial? I also need the card holding window that goes on the front of the phone.

I was told an AE 51 dial might be suitable, if you can get the "correct wiring" setup to enable it to work in a PTT phone.

UPDATE: I've put a LB1 receiver connected by jumpers, and a T1 transmitter in the handset connected by ring-type connectors; They work satisfactorily.. The LB1 receiver is from a WE sq. button trimline with the rubber ring around it. The rubber ring helps seat it when the receiver cap is in place.

Do you have any idea of how it dials wrong?
One digit to much, or breaking the line so you got new dial tone for each number? or???

The timing of the pulse contact may be wrong, so it stops in open position before the other contacts goes in the "resting position".

An American dial will not fit in the opening very well. Most foreign dials are larger and the mounting holes are in different locations.

302lover,

It is unlikely that the dial is beyond repair.  Steve Hilsz (http://phonesurplus.com/) is famous for his affordable dial repair service.  He can almost certainly fix it for you.

I can supply (almost) all parts for this type of phone. Let me know what you need.
