Title: 3-Slot Gray PayStation in 3D
Post by: kleenax on March 25, 2018, 09:22:20 AM
Saw this again this AM, and I am STILL amazed at how this company was able to render this phone in 3D that I had listed on eBay, using only my photos in the auction!  Must be my photos were pretty good! Was really strange to see what they had done "without" my consent....

Be sure to rotate it!

So what is that company selling? To me it looks as though they are selling your (used to be your) payphone....for $40.

No, they're selling a 3D digitally rendered model of that payphone, for use in animation, gaming, etc. Other people, whether they're creating a game, some sort of digital scene or animation, can buy this model for download, and that gives them full rights to use this model in their rendering.

They obviously used pictures from one of Ray's auctions, and created a digital model of it from scratch. Very impressive.

If you had a really nice 3D printer (or knew someone who did) you could print a very detailed model of it. Problem is, you could buy two Grays for the price of a professional 3D printer... ::)
