Cloth Cord Cleaning

I had this Imperial I bought cheap for the dial. The cloth cords were very stained, deep black marks on them. I figured they were trash or maybe dye them.

BUT I tried cleaning them first. If Dawn is good for getting oil of off the ducks in an oil spill, I will give it a shot. I wet the cords and then rubbed Dawn on them. I got the water a hot as I could, without boiling and let them soak about 90 minutes.

Rinsed, put the curly on a dowel (any phone collector should have a few on hand) and let them dry.

They came out better than expected....Doug
