This stainless ;) water heater has been working to the the last day.

Much more fun to work on telephones, so it could wait, and....

No more glass wool under...

Let the pictures talk by them selves.

Looks like it has seen better days.  Looks like it was leaking.

Makes me glad we have an on-demand boiler (incorrectly named as it only heats up to a maximum of about 55-60 degrees celsius), the only tank in there is an expansion vessel, and if it goes wrong, it's the landlord's duty to fix it, though it is under warranty at the moment so not too much worry if it goes pop... :)

A storage heater are the almost only used here, This one has been located on the ground under a house on poles.
Th tank it selves was made in stainless steel, tested as new at 20 atmospheres, and equipped with 2 safety valves releasing at 9 atmospheres pressure.  The elements were dimensioned: 500   1500 watts in parallel.

Whats scared me more was the faulty grounding together with a live wire just hanging there.   The best luck here are the high resistance in the local ground.   It is almost impossible to get a good grounding potential in a dry summer.

My new one has only one single safety valve, but I have a valve on the pump station too.
